Charles "Charlie" Buford Roscopf

Charles "Charlie" Buford Roscopf was born in Kingtown, Phillips County, Arkansas, on April 21, 1928.

Roscopf graduated from Marvell High School in May 1946 and joined the US Navy four days later. He was stationed at Camp Pendleton in California as a medic for two years.

When he returned to Arkansas, Roscopf attended Hendrix College for two years before transferring to the University of Arkansas, where he was president of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. Roscopf was elected to the Arkansas State House of Representatives in 1953 while still in law school, and he served until 1958. He earned his J.D. in 1954 and went into practice with the law firm Burke & Moore in Helena, Arkansas.

Roscopf was a delegate to the Arkansas Constitutional Convention of 1969. He served on the Arkansas State Board of Law Examiners from 1974 to 1979. Roscopf was president of the Arkansas Bar Association in 1991, became a fellow of the Arkansas Bar Association in 1996, and served as president of the Arkansas Bar Foundation Board of Directors in 2014.

Roscopf passed away on August 23, 2017.
