Peggy Harris

Peggy Harris was born in Winchester, Virginia, on December 8, 1933. In 1956, she and her husband, Sam, moved to Pine Bluff, Arkansas, where she worked at International Paper Co. and later at KATV, as well as in Sam’s law office. In the mid-1980s, she was named director of Keep Pine Bluff Beautiful, which led to Governor Clinton appointing her to lead the statewide organization, Keep Arkansas Beautiful, an organization she headed until 1993. After leaving the governor’s office, she went to work as PR Director for Aromatique, an Arkansas-based potpourri company, until she retired in 2013.

Peggy Harris died on November 16, 2021.
