Cliff Hoofman

Cliff Hoofman was born in Judsonia, Arkansas, on June 23, 1943. He received a BS from the State College of Arkansas (now University of Central Arkansas) in 1968, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas Law School in 1972. A Democrat, he represented North Little Rock in the State House of Representatives from 1975-1983, and served in the Arkansas State Senate from 1983-2003, when he retired due to the imposition of term limits on state legislators. After his retirement from the legislature, Hoofman served as legislative liaison for attorney general and later governor Mike Beebe. Governor Beebe appointed Hoofman to the Arkansas Highway Commission in 2007, and to a seat on the Arkansas Court of Appeals in 2011. In 2013, Beebe named Hoofman to a seat on the Arkansas Supreme Court, a position he held until December 2014.
