Bob Nash

Bob J. Nash was born in Texarkana, Arkansas, on September 26, 1947. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas in 1969 and a master’s degree in urban studies from Howard University in 1972. Prior to Governor Clinton’s second stint as governor in 1983, he served in the Arkansas Department of Planning and later as a vice president of the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation. In 1983, Clinton appointed Nash as a Senior Economic Assistant for Economic Development. In 1989, Clinton appointed Nash as President of the Arkansas Development Finance Authority. He held this position until 1993, when now-President Clinton appointed Nash to serve as an undersecretary in the U.S. Department of Agriculture. In 1995, Clinton named Nash to serve as Assistant to the President and Director of Presidential Personnel. After leaving government in 2001, Nash worked in the private sector and served as deputy campaign manager for Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign.
