The Levon Helm Band: In Concert

This is a recording of a concert by The Levon Helm Band at the Peabody Hotel in Little Rock, Arkansas, on October 1, 2005. Featuring Levon Helm and a collection of renowned folk, jazz, blues, and Americana artists, including Amy Helm, Steven Bernstein, Larry Campbell, Erik Lawrence, and Little Sammy Davis, the show saw the band performing music across a variety of artists and genres. Some of these songs will be familiar to many viewers, including a stirring acoustic rendition of Bruce Springsteen’s “Atlantic City,” a cover of Bob Dylan’s “It Takes a Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry,” and other lesser-known songs from the American folk canon. One of Helm’s first shows in Arkansas after recovering from throat cancer, this show highlights his enduring skills as a performer and reaffirms his status as the “Godfather of Americana music.”
