Hillary Rodham Clinton

Hillary Rodham Clinton was born October 26, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois.

Clinton graduated from Wellesley College in 1969 and entered Yale Law School. After her graduation in 1973, she went to work for the Children's Defense Fund before going to Washington, DC, to prepare for the Watergate court case against President Richard Nixon.

In 1974 Clinton moved to Arkansas and began teaching at the University of Arkansas School of Law. She joined the Rose Law Firm in 1976.

Clinton became First Lady of Arkansas when her husband, William Jefferson Clinton, was elected governor of Arkansas in 1978. She served as Arkansas's First Lady while maintaining a law practice and sitting on several boards, including the Legal Services Corporation. Clinton was named Arkansas Woman of the Year in 1983 and Arkansas Young Mother of the Year in 1984. She left Arkansas for Washington, DC, in 1992 when Governor Clinton was elected President of the United States.

Hillary Rodham Clinton was elected US Senator for the state of New York in 2000 and re-elected in 2006. She resigned from the Senate in 2009 to serve as US Secretary of State in the Obama Administration and served in that position until 2013. Clinton was the Democratic Party's nominee for President of the United States in 2016.

Clinton continues to serve the public through the Clinton Foundation.
