Foster C. "Jock" Davis was born in Malvern, Hot Spring County, Arkansas, on October 12, 1924.
Davis graduated from Prescott High School in 1943 and went directly into the US Army and served until the end of World War II. He was stationed in New Guinea, Australia, and the Philippines. Davis later became a member of the Arkansas National Guard, where he served for thirty-five years as a company commander and achieved a rank of major.
Upon his return to the States, Davis attended Arkansas Tech University on the GI Bill. He graduated with a B.S. in business administration in 1950 and went on to a fifty-year career in poultry industry sales and management.
Davis is the author of the autobiography Brothers Four: Reliving the Great Depression and World War II. He has been a member of the Jaycees, the Red Coats, and the Russellville Chamber of Commerce and been a speaker at many ROTC functions and events.
