Mike Beebe

Mickey Dale "Mike" Beebe was born near Amagon, Jackson County, Arkansas, on December 28, 1946. Raised by his mother, he lived in several states before returning to Arkansas and graduating from Newport High School.

Beebe earned a B.A. in political science from Arkansas State University and a J.D. from the University of Arkansas School of Law. Additionally, he served in the United States Army Reserves.

Beebe began practicing law in Searcy in 1972 and was named the Outstanding Trial Lawyer in Arkansas in 1981. Beebe, a Democrat, served twenty years in the Arkansas state senate until he became the attorney general of Arkansas in 2002. He was elected the 45th governor of Arkansas in 2006 and reelected in 2010.

Beebe and his wife, Ginger, have three children.
