Jack Pearson

With a mother from Tupelo, Mississippi, and a father from middle Tennessee, Jack Pearson grew up in a musical family. When he was a child, his brother, Stanley, taught him how to play blues guitar. After he had been playing for about a year, his brother handed him a metal slide and said, “Here, boy, you need to learn how to play slide.” When Jack asked him how to use it, his brother said, “I don’t know how, but you need to learn.”

In the eighties, Pearson became friends with Warren Haynes. The friendship led to Pearson playing with both Greg Allman and Friends and the Allman Brothers. Pearson currently tours, teaches guitar, and runs an instructional website to “pass it along to the younger players.”
